About

My name is Eric obviously. I love anything to do with video games, from playing them to making them. I have a great family and a happy life. My dream is to one day be a game programmer and I am working on that dream every day.

I started playing video games when I was 10 and haven’t looked back since. I played every game I could get my hands on but I especially loved RPG games. My first RPG was “Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves” for the NES, I couldn’t put that game down. Then I moved on to games like Diablo which I can remember having nightly competitions to see who could stay awake the latest to get the longest turn at playing( we only had 1 PC at the time) . Then the online craving hit with Ultima Online; I fell in love with the MMO being added onto RPG.

MMORPG’s had become my favorite games in the world. I played every one I could get my hands on; UO , Everquest, Asherons Call, Anarchy Online, Neocron, Shadowbane and WoW ( just to name a few). My life has been all about gaming but my true passion is online games.

With programming my love is network programming(I wonder why). I love writing the servers and clients and all that goes along with it. Every game is fun to work on because the passion of creation is the same for all of it. Slamming the keys until 2am trying to make it work before you have to go to work the next day is exhilarating and when it actually works you almost yell and jump around with joy! All this over a simple pixel moving around the screen fighting another pixel; I love it all. This is what I want to do with my life. I want to bring the joy of video games to the world and have fun doing it.

I am married with 3 awesome kids. My kids are about 3 years apart in age and each of them have their own special way of bringing me joy. If there is one thing in this world that can make me happier then video games it is my wife and kids. Right now I travel for my job and I miss out on my family a lot. If there is any way I can make my life better it would be to get a game programming job in my hometown or move my home to one so I can be with my family. It would be amazing to spend every day of the rest of my life doing what I am most passionate about and to call it ‘work’. I created this website and portfolio to help people get to know me better and understand where my desire and drive comes from. Thank you for taking the time to stop by and check it out.
